Our band started as “Ceol Mor Pipe Band” of Valparaiso, IN in 1991.

Pipe Major Brent Van Norman instructed classes there and students made up the Pipe and Drum Corps. In 2001, the Pipe Major began working as the Officer in Charge at Culver Academies and moved his band meeting place onto campus. By early 2002 the band Culver Pipes and Drums was formed as a marching unit at Culver that has Boys and Girls Academy students, as well as Faculty, Staff, their families, the community, past Ceol Mor members, and other interested parties participating together. Culver Pipes and Drums is a Campus Club. Ceol Mor Pipe Band remains as an official State-Registered entity falling under the Not-for-Profit Corporation of The Great Lakes Celtic Association.
